Strategies for Effective Study

With end-of-year exams looming on the horizon it's time to set your goals and step up the study routine!! Study can be a drag at the best of times but with a bit of planning you can get the best results without wasting time.

Research shows that we all have different learning styles. It is really valuable to be able to identify your learning style so that you can use strategies that suit your style. In other words, there are ways that you can learn things more easily depending on your learning style.

Here is a table to help you identify which learning styles suit you best (you may find there are 2 or 3) and some strategies to help your study.

Verbal/linguistic Learn by listening Talk about the subject to others
Visual/spatial Learn from visual presentations Draw ideas, put information on a video/DVD and watch it, make wall charts
Bodily/Kinesthetic Process information through bodily sensations Act things out
