Holly Brisley

Holly dazzled us when she performed on "Dancing with the Stars" and she is a successful actress who can be seen each night on "Home and Away". In real life she's very different to the character she plays and she has some great advice for YOU. Check out what she has to say....

Lots of hard work!

About yourself (likes/dislikes, strengths/weaknesses):

I love being fit and healthy and spending time with my friends and family. I'm enjoying cooking at the moment and also going out on the harbour on our boat. I love what I do at work and think that my positive attitude to life is strength. I have a weakness for chocolate! I also have a tendency to leave the things I need to do until the very last minute.

Things you are most proud of / greatest achievement:

I'm proud of how far I got on 'Dancing with the Stars'. It was such an intense experience but one that I am definitely very proud of.

Your biggest challenge:

It was a big challenge for me to take on the role of 'Amanda Vale' on 'Home and Away'. As it is a heavy work load and you have to learn so many scripts! The schedule is quite full on too, but all of the hard work that goes into the show is worth it! I also really struggled with the role of Amanda, because she is nothing like me in real life and I was worried that people would hate me because of the nasty things she sometimes does.

Strategies you used to overcome challenging situations:

I always take each day as it comes and try not to stress myself out. I think if you are well prepared and have put in the work you need to, then it will always work out. Take each moment as it comes and only worry about the things that you have control of….you can't control everything!

If you could do one thing differently, what would it be?

I wouldn't listen to other people's opinions so much and I would be more confident in decisions that I have made for myself. I think we always know the right answer inside ourselves.

Advice to younger girls:

Never give up on your dreams. I also think that visualisation is a very powerful tool in life.
