Valentine's Day Caramel Love Heart Chocolates

What you need:

  • 1 Packet of chocolate melts -milk or dark
  • 1 can of caramel (cooking section)*
  • 1 tray of love heart chocolate moulds (available from craft shops, kitchen shops and good supermarkets)

*If you feel adventurous you can make your own caramel by gently boiling a tin of condensed milk for two hours. Ensure that the tin is at least half covered by water the whole two hours. Open when cool.

What to do:

  • Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir until it melts.
  • Spoon a little of the melted chocolate into the moulds making sure it covers the sides and bottoms of the hearts.
  • Spoon approximately ½ a teaspoon of caramel on top of the chocolate in each heart.
  • Cover the caramel with more chocolate making sure the mould is filled and the caramel is not visible.
  • Refrigerate until set about one hour.
  • Remove chocolates from moulds by turning upside and gently pushing the bottom.
  • You could buy a cute box, love heart shaped or even a noodle box from craft shops to put them in.
  • Give them to the one you admire!
