Kylie 'Showgirl: Homecoming Tour' Review

Kylie glams it up!

Walking into the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on the 17th of November 2006, anyone with eyes could see it was going to be a rollicking night as Kylie Minogue hit the stage for her 'Showgirl Homecoming Tour'. There were glamorous girls (and boys) as far as the eye could see, with the staple uniform consisting of heels, sequins and lots and lots of pink. On bags, T-shirts, dresses and headbands, there was no shortage of 'pinkness'.

Taking the stage smack bang on time without a support act, Ms. Minogue stunned the crowd with an ever-more glamorous array of costume changes. From a leopard print body stocking to a Las-Vegas style sequined leotard and a ridiculously (in a good way!) oversized feathered headdress. She even managed to include an eighties style fluoro suit into the mix and her amazing back-up dancers were equally as stunningly attired.

All the hits were there including the oldies like 'Especially for You' and 'I Should be so Lucky' which were greeted with wild screams by the older crowd members, whilst the newbies such as 'I Believe in You' and 'Slow' were met with equal fervour by the younger concert goers.

The Showgirl did not disappoint, with choreography and costumes to die for, and supremely talented back up singers and dancers, there was something new and scintillating at every turn which ensured everyone was up and out of their seats dancing the evening away.

Kylie arrives in Brisbane.

From her career's dubious beginning as 'the singing budgie', to this amazing Homecoming Tour, it was clear to anyone who attended one of her shows exactly why Kylie's career has not only endured, but actually flourished with the passage of time. Kylie really is Australia's own Pop Princess, and a true 'Showgirl' at heart.
