As If! A Clueless And Buzzin' Retro Review

As If. Whatever.

Words ever present in the vocabulary of pretty much everyone under 30, but where did they come from? They came from not only one of the best teen films of all time, but one of the funniest and smartest comedies ever. Being a teen of the nineties and not having lived under a rock, I saw 'Clueless' again and again and again. In fact I still watch it on a regular basis…it never grows old, looks outdated or seems stale. That's why I was shocked when I realised a lot of today's teenagers may not have ever seen this film. Oh, the wonders you are missing!

I command thee to take thyself to the video store right now, head for the comedy section and prepare to be in stitches within minutes of pressing play. Enter the exclusive sphere of Cher, Dionne, Ty, Josh, Christian, Elton and Murray, ogle the rotating wardrobe (yes, you read that correctly…a rotating wardrobe), ponder the Monet's (good looking from afar but up close 'just a big old mess!'), live the horror of a driving test and expand your vocabulary. If you don't know what 'sporadic' means now, you will after watching clueless…

This movie is funny and warm, exclusive yet inclusive, and every performance is perfect. My particular favourite would have to go to Christian, who plays cool to a tee. If you like 'Mean Girls' and 'She's The Man' don't hesitate, because you will adore clueless. It shows us exactly how a teen comedy should be done.
